Broadening the circle of people that you listen to and pay attention to – in particular, people who are part of communities that have been marginalized by mainstream society – you learn different values systems and structures… The more that I try to expand that circle and listen and learn, the more I see that I have a choice to slow down.
During this intensive day of service, nearly 150 Allstate volunteers will use their professional skills to complete 15 projects that will build the capacity of 12 organizations, all led by people of color or with a racial justice focus.
Skills for Cities Fall 2021 will bring together volunteers from 16 companies with leaders of 17 BIPOC-led, racial equity, and digital inclusion nonprofits in an intensive one-day virtual flash consulting event.
