Dean Marsh is a seasoned corporate leader with over 20 years of experience in driving extraordinary revenue growth in the technology sector.
In his current role, as Managing Director of Accenture Cloud First (NYSE:ACN), Dean is working with North America’s leading corporations to guide their digital business transformation in the cloud.
Dean has built a diverse and expansive skill set, having led software engineering, product management, user experience design, sales and marketing teams. Throughout his career, Dean has sought opportunities to expand the boundaries of the possible, leading new technology ventures and opening new markets.
Dean led the full P&L and operations across the United States, Canada, and Mexico as President and CEO of Dassault Systémes Americas Corporation (DSAC), the $1B North American subsidiary of Dassault Systémes (DASTY) the world leader in 3D Digital design, Digital Manufacturing, and Product Lifecycle Management solutions,
Upon joining Dassault Systémes, Dean quickly implemented a strategy to transform and modernize the go-to-market execution, including the introduction of a new digital sales channel resulting in three consecutive years of double digit revenue growth. Dean led projects ranging from bootstrapping Electric/Autonomous vehicle startups, to modernizing manufacturing and increasing production rates at America’s largest aerospace and defense firms, to enabling groundbreaking innovation and collaboration at leading consumer products, pharma, and biotech companies.
As Vice President, Global Cloud Solutions, Dean led IBM’s push into the cloud. Under his leadership, IBM’s Cloud business grew from $50M to $11B. Dean’s teams developed new infrastructure platforms, new hybrid cloud solutions, and led M&A activities to build upon and complement IBM’s core capabilities.
As a technologist, Dean is an expert in large-scale technology platforms. Dean joined Lotus Corporation as head of Product Management and led the revival of the Notes/Domino platform. The platform concepts pioneered by Lotus are now embodied in such diverse platforms as Salesforce.com and Dassault Systémes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform. As a software engineer, Dean led the development of the graphics kernel for the OS/2 operating system, and introduced pioneering concepts in user interface design.
Dean is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Essex County Community Foundation, an organization which manages over $200M in philanthropic assets. Dean serves on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee and the County Leadership Committee.
Dean also serves on the advisory board of “Ivyees Everything Honey”, a fast growing, innovative startup, focusing on producing all natural, healthful products based on raw organic honey from Jamaica and New Zealand.
Dean holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, and a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgy and Materials Science from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. He resides in the Boston, MA area with his wife, Dr. Yvonne Marsh, and is the father of four children. Dean is an avid golfer, water sports enthusiast, and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
