For most social impact leaders, there are never enough hours in the day. “To do” lists are long, resources are scarce, and you probably are expected to be an expert in marketing, HR, finance, and operations on top of running programs and delivering on your organization’s mission.
Sometimes all you need is a quick phone call with an expert to identify next steps and get fresh perspective on a sticky challenge. That’s exactly what the Pro Bono Hotline delivers. We have volunteers from Fortune 1000 companies with an average of 15 years of professional experience standing by and ready to connect with you for one hour of advisory support on a variety of topics, such as:
- Determining an external communications plan for a recent data breach of the organization’s database
- Helping an organization develop a marketing plan for a virtual event, which had traditionally been in-person prior to COVID-19
- Getting started on a strategy for a digital annual report
- Addressing financial management questions on how to most effectively move their organization from cash to accrual accounting
- And lots more
“It was nice to talk things through with a “third” party – outside of the office – to get some new ideas. She was well versed in the area and had some new concepts for me to consider. I enjoyed talking with her and appreciated her willingness to help me.”
– Meals on Wheels of Wake County
“The Hotline experience was really valuable to our organization. We brought our volunteer a question for which we were lacking internal expertise and she was able to advise us based on her extensive knowledge. Sometimes, skills-based programs are difficult from the nonprofit side as it is a large time commitment. This consultation was amazing in structuring our approach to a program we were wrestling with for a while.”
