Skills-based volunteering helps connect professionals with expertise in areas like marketing, finance, HR, operations and technology to nonprofits looking to develop their teams and build capacity for their organization. On September 25, 2018, more than 80 volunteers representing 14 civically-engaged companies collaborated with 15 Boston-based nonprofits to deliver community change at a local and global level.
The event provided an estimated $80,000 in pro bono services to the Boston community in just one day of service and delivered on the promise to increase longer-term engagement that will have a lasting impact on the city:
Participating nonprofits were selected for their innovative approaches to tackling persistent community challenges that also deliver on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). The event was designed to increase awareness of this important global initiative, as well as engage more organizations and volunteerism in pro bono service:
