Colleen DelVecchio

Project Consultant

she/her

For me, there is nothing better than to watch a nonprofit be able to grow because of skills-based volunteering. Having worked at many underfunded nonprofits in my career, I know the impact that skills-based volunteering could have had on their trajectory.

Colleen joins Common Impact as a Project Consultant. She has worked in the nonprofit sector for over 25 years and is passionate about empowering organizations across sectors to navigate increasingly complex business, social, and community issues. She is a strategist, engagement consultant, and strengths-based leadership coach.

After beginning her career in Boston at nonprofit organizations that assist people with disabilities in gaining employment, Colleen solidified her desire to increase equity and inclusion across the sectors. She expanded her nonprofit career at the Institute for Community Inclusion focused on building the capacity of smaller nonprofits, as the Volunteer Director at Mercy Medical Center, and leading alumnae engagement efforts at Smith College. Prior to joining Common Impact, Colleen ran a consulting and coaching business full-time, which focused on women’s leadership, strategic thinking, volunteer management, equity and inclusion, and staff development.

Colleen has been the recipient of two Turkeyland Cove Foundation fellowships and currently sits on the Board of Directors. She has taught at Holyoke Community College, Greenfield Community College, Bay Path University, and UMass Amherst. Colleen is a certified Gallup Strengths Coach, has a B.A. in psychology from Boston University, and an M.S. in nonprofit management from Bay Path University.
