Alyson joins Common Impact as an Associate Consultant, serving the organization’s mission to strengthen communities by building unlikely partnerships between nonprofits, foundations and corporations through skills-based volunteerism.
Prior to Common Impact, Alyson worked at the U.S. Embassy in Gaborone, Botswana where she helped organize projects for international business ventures, collaborating with the public and private sectors to better Botswana’s technological capacities. Alyson also managed operational strategies for Senator Schumer (NY), building work plans for legislative priority measures and serving local constituents on issues ranging from labor to health to education.
Alyson graduated from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Bologna, Italy where she received her degree in International Affairs and Economics. She is a former Foreign Policy Fellow for the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars where she worked in Bogota, Colombia on the peace negotiation process, internal displacement, land restitution and reparations.
