Head of Technology & Global Services, Fidelity Investments
Steve Neff has been involved with Common Impact as an active Board member for over 9 years. He is currently the Head of Technology and Global Services at Fidelity Investments, a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing and other financial products and services to more than 25 million individuals, institutions and financial intermediaries. He is responsible for the oversight, coordination and execution of the firm’s technology functions and global business services and chairs the Fidelity Technology chief information officer council. Mr. Neff is also a member of the firm's executive Operating Committee.
Prior to his current role Mr. Neff was a senior technology consultant with Fidelity from 2010 to 2012, supporting a number of large technology initiatives across the enterprise. From 2005 to 2009, he was the chief information officer for Fidelity’s Asset Management businesses where he was responsible for providing information technology solutions supporting Fidelity Management and Research Company (FMRCo), Pyramis Global Advisors, Strategic Advisers Inc., and Fidelity International Limited.
Mr. Neff joined Fidelity in 1996 and held a number of senior-level technology roles supporting the investment advisor companies, including vice president of Technology Infrastructure, vice president of Equity Investment Management Systems, senior vice president of Equity Trading Systems, and senior vice president of Technology Support and Operations.
Prior to joining Fidelity, Mr. Neff was with Salomon Brothers in New York and London. He served in a number of technology leadership roles, including Director of Applications Development for Salomon Brothers International Limited in London, and senior operations officer responsible for infrastructure and technology operations in New York. Mr. Neff began his career with IBM Corporation in New York in 1974. He held several systems engineering and technology management positions through 1987 supporting the financial services industry and the IBM marketing and service divisions.
Steve is active on the Board of St. Francis House - an organization providing comprehensive services to the homeless in Boston. He is also an active cyclist and fundraiser for the Pan Mass Challenge.
Steve received a bachelor of arts degree in math from Rutgers College in 1974. He and his wife Mary have five children.
