Krista Van Tassel
Krista Van Tassel is a communications, marketing and social responsibility professional with a strong understanding of sustainable community development and demonstrated expertise collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver innovative programs that support organization and community goals. With more than 15 years of experience, her work includes impact reporting, media relations, reputation management, strategic philanthropy, employee engagement and nonprofit partnerships. Her passion is helping organizations develop programs that engage team members in making a difference at work and in their community.
As Director, Partnerships, Krista is responsible for supporting Common Impact’s role as a thought leader in skills-based volunteerism and building new partnerships that expand the organization’s work connecting talented professionals and global brands to high-potential local nonprofits to ignite positive social and environmental change.
Prior to joining Common Impact, she worked in a variety of communications and corporate social responsibility roles with AMN Healthcare, Wells Fargo, Sun Microsystems and Hewlett Packard. Krista has experience in the nonprofit sector as an organization leader, board member and pro bono volunteer with groups such as Net Impact, Full Circle Fund and GRID Alternatives. She also develops and teaches courses for the UCSD Extension School Sustainable Business Practices Program.
