Sarah Hayes is a consultant specializing in global employee volunteer programs and successful business-community partnerships. She is currently a consultant with VolunteerMatch, One OC, and now happy to be joining Common Impact!
Sarah brings with her 25+ years of experience in Employee Volunteer Programs (EVPs), International CSR, cross-sector partnerships, as well as strategy development, training and public speaking. She founded and managed two internal EVPs (KPMG and Starwood Hotels and Resorts), and additionally founded the Global Corporate Volunteer Council (GCVC) of the International Association for Volunteer Effort (IAVE), and managed this network for ten years. During her tenure with the GCVC the network grew from six global companies to fifty-five+ global companies, many based outside the United States. This network is still going strong today.
Sarah was one of the researchers and authors of the 2011 publication Global Companies Volunteering Globally. She has also served on the National Council of Workplace Volunteerism with Points of Light, as well as a Faculty Consultant for Points of Light. She was on the original U.S. Committee for the International Year of Volunteers (IYV), and has also developed and managed events and conferences for IAVE and for the Conference Board. She served for ten years on the Board of the American Red Cross of Northern New Jersey.
Sarah is excited to be joining the team at Common Impact, and hopes to bring her history and perspective of this field into her work, as well as bring (and learn about) new and innovative ideas for partnerships, projects and events. She is passionate about new and different approaches, and being creative with solving problems for nonprofits and really engaging employees in skilled volunteer work that also brings out their passion!
