Director of Partnerships
As Common Impact’s newest team member, Kara spent her professional career building high-quality, cross-functional relationships, working hand-in-hand with non-profits and for-profits of all sizes, and connecting community members at all levels. She inspires action through a blend of business sense and a passion to serve.
Kara has extensive experience in the nonprofit world, earning respect and success through the layered, genuine, and long-lasting cultivation of hundreds of corporate sponsors, partners, and members from startups to well-established Fortune 500 companies. For ten-plus years, she built and grew a national network through brand-building events and grass-roots business development.
At Common Impact, Kara supports the growth and evolution of new and existing corporate partnerships through relationship building and meeting the needs of local and global clients. She is responsible for supporting and building new and existing corporate partnerships while amplifying the importance of skills-based volunteerism.
Kara has a BA in Human Services from Lesley University and is on pace in 2016 to complete her MS in Corporate and Organizational Communication at Northeastern University. She has additionally served on the board of Girls in Tech which promotes the “engagement, education and empowerment of girls and women who are passionate about technology.”
